What Am I Hungry For?
There I was for the 12th time this afternoon. Standing in front of an open refrigerator.
What am I hungry for?
I had no idea.
We’ve all been there. Feeling restless, bored, anxious, tired, frustrated, lonely. Or maybe not sure what we’re feeling. We find ourselves reaching for our favorite comfort food one minute and hating ourselves for it the next. It didn’t help and now we feel worse.
What’s wrong with me?
After wondering and wandering, grazing and binging, I feel awful. Now I don’t just feel empty, I feel flawed. Alone. Why does everyone else seem fine, while I’m constantly hungry? I feel like a loser. I can’t even figure out what’s wrong, much less fix it.
If you’ve ever felt that way, I’ve got some wonderful news for you.
- you’re not alone
- your hunger is a good thing
- you don’t have to figure it out
- you don’t have to fix it
Our hunger is God-given and God-intended to lead us to the only food that will satisfy our empty soul. Christ. That’s why I’ve written Hungry, so we all can learn to feed our souls with Christ.
Buy it. Read it. Join me.
I’m still learning.
